Booking the UClub Facilities

The facilities of the University Club are available for rental to groups and organizations under the sponsorship of a member in good standing. Prior to completing the booking form, you must email or call the House Manager (902-690-7383) to ensure the U-Club is available for your event.  

A reminder of the responsibilities of the sponsoring member: the sponsoring member must be in attendance at events.  The sponsoring member accepts responsibility for all charges incurred as a result of the booking. This includes unaccounted for bar charges. This also includes extra cleaning charges that may be added if facilities are not left in the condition in which they were found. Sponsors are responsible to ensure clean-up is completed (e.g., dishes washed and/or dishwasher loaded, barbeque cleaned, tables wiped down, garbage/recyclables sorted and bagged). Sponsors are also responsible for arranging the opening and locking up the Club for the event (either directly themselves, or with the House Manager/Bartender).

A reminder to those using our facilities: the U-Club is a non-profit society that tries to maintain reasonable pricing for services, facilities, and events for our members.  The revenue we generate through bookings/rentals helps us maintain the building infrastructure, so we can continue to offer a place where our members, their guests, and the Acadia community at large, can gather. We thank you for your support through your ongoing bookings. Please contact one of the current members of the Executive if you would like to discuss our facilities.

We also note that at this time, 17 Westwood is not considered wheelchair accessible.

Daytime Rental

Basic daytime rental rate for a morning or early afternoon event of up to 2 hours, such as a reception or meeting, is $50.  This does not provide access to the kitchen or bbque. (No kitchen access means no use of dishes, cutlery, stove, dishwasher, fridge).  There is no access to the bar, except to members. Catering/food may be brought in, with set-up/clean-up by the sponsor/group. Event should be completed by approximately 5 PM. If there are 25 people or fewer, there is no requirement for the House Manager/Bartender to be in attendance (the sponsor must be in attendance). If there are over 25 people, there is a requirement to have the House Manager/Bartender for a minimum of 2 hours (add an additional $40).

Need kitchen access?  Add $30. This also gives you access to the bbque.

If you require the House Manager/Bartender, you must add a minimum of $40 (2 hours).

Late Afternoon/Evening Rental (4 PM onward)

Basic late afternoon or evening rental rate for an up to 3 hour event, such as a reception, meeting, or a meal or other food event, is $140.  This provides access to the kitchen, bbque (if wanted), and bar (if wanted). Catering/food may be brought in, with set-up/clean-up by the sponsor/group.  All late afternoon/evening events require a House Manager/Bartender (regardless of number of people attending), and this cost is included in this pricing. A reminder: The sponsor is still expected to be in attendance.

If the event is over 3 hours, please add an additional $20/hour for House Manager/Bartender.

Games Room Rental (currently not available)

If sponsoring member wants to book exclusive use of the games room as part of an event, add $25.
